Privacy Policy

Nourishment uses account information to sign you in and the information you add to provide food, movement, and partner features. Some features process information through service providers, including AI providers. Apple Health access is optional.

Who provides Nourishment

Nourishment is provided by Jakob Langtry under the Lab86 name. For privacy questions or requests, email jakob@lab86.io.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your email address, name, username, profile image, account identifiers, and authentication records. Clerk manages authentication. If you sign in with Google, we request your basic profile and email information, including an identifier used to recognize your Google account. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or other Google account content.
  • Information you add. Meal descriptions and photos, recipes and shared links, food preferences, notes, reactions, goals, check-ins, workouts, weight entries, and partner interactions.
  • Optional intake and health information. Your age or birth year, sex, height, weight, activity level, eating and wellbeing goals, and answers about your eating history or support. Some answers can reveal sensitive health information.
  • Optional Apple Health information. If you grant access, the app can read movement information such as steps, active energy, exercise minutes, workouts, and body mass. Selected summaries and weight information can be stored in Nourishment’s backend. If you enable writing, meal energy and nutrient estimates and manual workout records can be written to Apple Health.
  • Technical information. Authentication and service logs, timestamps, timezone, and records needed to operate and secure the app. If you enable notifications, we can store a device notification token.

When you visit this website, Railway and Cloudflare process ordinary request information, such as your IP address, requested page, and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies when its security features are applied. We do not use website analytics or advertising cookies.

How we use information

We use information to sign you in, maintain your records, estimate meal nutrition, organize recipes, suggest food ideas, calculate plans and progress, support partner interactions, deliver enabled notifications, and diagnose or prevent service problems.

Your Google profile name and photo can become your Nourishment display name and avatar. These can appear to your paired partner. A display name, including one originally received from Google, can also be included in an AI prompt for personalized encouragement. Google sign-in data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to access additional Google services.

Nourishment’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Partners and service providers

Your paired partner. Partner features can show your name and avatar, meals and photos, recipes, notes, cheers, activity, goals, and progress. Nutrition-number visibility and partner check-in alerts have separate settings. An enabled check-in alert can tell your partner that you have had a difficult few days, which may reveal sensitive information. Consider what you put in shared content; your partner can retain or copy what they have already seen.

Authentication and storage. Clerk processes account and sign-in information. Convex stores and processes app records and uploaded files. Authorized maintenance or support work may require access to records. The app does not promise end-to-end encryption or that only you can ever access stored information.

AI features. OpenRouter and the model providers it routes requests to process the content sent for a feature. This may include meal text and photos, recipe content, food preferences and reactions, workout notes, display names, goals, and the context used to generate encouragement. Do not put information into these features that you do not want processed by an AI provider. AI results can be inaccurate.

Web and recipe processing. Shared recipe links, public recipe content, and food-source search queries may be processed through Browserbase and source websites. Source sites and providers can receive ordinary request information when content is fetched.

Notifications. Apple’s notification service processes device tokens and notification content when enabled. A notification may appear on your lock screen according to your device settings.

Providers have their own security, retention, and processing terms. Information may be processed outside your country. We may disclose information when necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, or protect the service and its users.

Your choices and requests

You can edit supported records and settings, control partner number sharing and alerts, and change notification or Apple Health permissions through the app and your device. Turning off an integration stops future access within that permission; it does not automatically erase information already stored.

You can revoke Google access in your Google Account settings. Revocation or signing out does not by itself delete your Nourishment records. For a copy, correction, or deletion of your account and associated app information, contact jakob@lab86.io. We may need to verify your identity before handling a request.

Retention and security

App records are stored while they are used to provide Nourishment, unless deleted through a supported feature or removed in response to a verified request. Copies may remain in backups or provider records according to their retention practices, or where retention is necessary for security or legal obligations.

Account authentication, access checks, and encrypted network connections help protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Avoid sharing media links or account access with people you do not want to see your content.

Existing TreeCaching information

If your Nourishment account was carried over from TreeCaching, relevant account details and Nourishment records may be copied so your profile, history, and partner pairing continue in the standalone app. TreeCaching’s separate records are not part of this transfer. A copy remaining in TreeCaching is not automatically erased when a record is changed or deleted in Nourishment; contact support if your request should cover both apps.

Age and changes

Nourishment is intended for people aged 16 or older. If you believe information from a younger child has been provided, contact us.

We may update this policy as the app changes. The published policy will show its effective date. Material changes to how information is used or shared will be communicated before they take effect where required.
